Jesus said "And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise." (Luke 6:31, NKJV)
In the Didache it says "do not do to another what you would not want done to you" (Chapter 1)

Are these the same? What is the difference?

If you see a car pulled over by the side of the road and an elderly woman staring at her flat tire, what you each of the above lead you to do? Would you pull over and change her tire because you would want someone to do that if you were in the same position? Or would you not run over her, because you would not want someone to run over you if you were in the same situation.

How do you live your life?

Good Observation, and Application!
There are a couple more glaring deficiencies in the Didache. These deficiencies are the reason the Didache is not a part of the Bible.

When you study the Extra Biblical writings like the Apocrypha, Didache or the early church writings of, Poly Carp, etc. it is easy to see that although mostly informative, they are not on the same level as Scripture for Devine Inspiration.

Due to the noticeable lack of Devine Inspiration of the writings, I dont think it was difficult at all for the early committees to select the writings that were to be canon and those that were not to be canon.

I'll admit, I know absolutely nothing about cars other then how to change oil and put new spark plugs in the thing. Changing a tire is beyond the scope of my knowledge.

I'd do one of three things if I saw such a situation unfolding:

1. Stop and ask the lady if she'd like to lock up her car and get a ride into town.

2. If I had a cell phone, I'd allow her to borrow it to make any calls she'd need. I'd then stick around until someone got there since a lot of robberies happen to people stranded on the side of the road. They might mess with an old lady, but they aren't going to mess with a crazy looking kid with a large broadsword (I have a permit to carry it).

3. If she refused #'s 1 and 2, I'd call the Highway Patrol or local PD as soon as I got back into town just to notify them that there was someone with a flat tire, possibly in need of assistance.

I'd do any or all of this not because I care what would happen to me in the same situation but because it's the right thing to do.

I'm aim to do at the very least the latter and have done both, nice attempt at a trick question though.

No trick intended, just asking a question of how people live. This applies more to Christians then to non-believers, because Jesus so commanded.

Two minuses definitely make a positive when multiplying. But does that same reason apply to language? Language is more complex then simple formula mathematics. To do something positive is not the same as to not do something negative.

To not rob a bank is not the same as to actively stop someone else from robbing a bank, nor is it the opposite.
